Chapter Eight

Justin closed his laptop and smiled. He couldn't believe it was her. From the moment he had seen her it was instant attraction. He re-opened his laptop and went into a Word program. He began to write out lyrics… lyrics that described what he wanted with Eryn.

***Two Months or More Later***

Justin and Eryn had been talking on the net all the time. Their next 'scheduled' net meeting was in five minutes.

Eryn sat down at the computer and logged on to Yahoo! Chat. Justin was on. Her heart filled with happiness.

Hey Justin! How are you? I was thinking…

***

Justin smiled at the message. Lately, Eryn was his life. He would get on whenever he could to meet her or email her. His friends didn't know about his online friend, and Eryn didn't know about his friends, or who they really were.

I'm good, Eryn. Are you? What were you thinking about?

***

Eryn wrote him, still smiling.

I am also good. I was thinking…that we do know an awful lot about each other. Well, not everything. Not even our last names. But I want to hear your voice. Or a picture. I don't think we should meet yet, though.

***

Justin read the message and began to panic. I can't send her a picture! I will suggest the phone, I guess. I really want to see her though.

How about you call me? I live out of a suitcase… always in hotels… so maybe I should call you.

***

Eryn usually didn't even tell people she met where she lived. But this time, it felt right.

Okay, Justin. My number is 555-2676, okay? When are you going to call? I am home all today. My area code is 416.

***

Justin's face filled with happiness.

Now. Get off the net.

***

Eryn agreed and logged off. Minutes later, the phone rang.

"Hello?" Eryn said.

"Hi… is Eryn there, please?" A voice said.

Eryn knew who it was. She loved how polite he was. "This is Eryn. Is this Justin?"

"Yeah!" His voice filled with relief. "Hi! I am so glad we can finally talk!" Justin answered.

"I know, this is great!" Eryn said.

The conversation continued for the next four hours. They talked about everything, even more than they shared in their emails.

***

Justin sat back, with a smile on his face. It was four hours since he called Eryn. The bill would be huge, but he had the money. A few minutes later, JC walked into the room.

"Justin! Where were you? We were just at the court… playing basketball," JC looked concerned. "You always want to play!"

"Sorry JC… listen, can I talk to you about something?" Justin asked him.

"Sure," JC answered and sat down on the sofa beside Justin. "Is anything wrong?"

"No, not that at all," Justin told him. "Finally something is RIGHT!"

"Okay, tell me then," JC said. They heard a slam and in walked Lance, Joey and Chris.

"Hey guys!" Chris said, sitting down between them on the sofa.

"Hi," Justin said, feeling defeated. "Can you guys, um, leave or something? Me and JC, were sorta talking."

"How can you 'sorta talk'?" Chris asked. Lance pulled his arm.

"Come on, you idiot," Lance said. Joey grabbed Chris's shirt and pulled him off of the couch.

"OOOOHHHH I see," Chris said. "They want to be alone… FINE!" Chris walked out of the room, laughing.

Lance looked at them. "He's a little drunk. Don't mind him."

"I never do," Justin said. Joey walked out of the room, but Lance stayed behind.

"Is anything wrong, Justin?" Lance said, looking concerned.

Justin shook his head. "Nah, Lance. Everything's okay. I just need to talk to JC."

"Okay, buddy, but I am here for you," Lance said, still looking concerned. "Bye." He walked out of the room.

Justin turned to JC. "Okay, how about if I just tell you the whole story?"

"Sure," JC answered.

"Okay, a while ago I was really bored, so I went online, and decided to go in a chat room. I made my name Crunk_Guy." Justin began.

JC started to laugh. "Crunk_Guy? Ha! Okay, keep going."

Justin shot JC an annoyed look and continued. "Anyway, I went into a chat room and there was this girl named Crunk_Girl. I started to talk to her, found out she was 17, et cetera."

"That's weird," JC said.

"Yeah, I know. Anyway, at our concert, I forgot something on stage. I went back out and these two girls were still there. We talked for a few minutes, the one girl, and me, because the other left. Apparently, she is in love with you. She tried to get backstage." Justin laughed.

"Oh, they all love me," JC said. "All of them. Every single one. No one for Chris, no one for Lance, no one for Joey, no one for you. They all want me. JC. Anyway, keep going."

"Well, she asked for an autograph, and I spelt her name wrong," Justin continued.

"What was her name?" JC asked.

"Eryn," Justin said. "But she spells it E-R-Y-N. So I was talking to her on the net, and we exchanged names, then she told me about the concert. So it was her!"

"That's weird. So you've met her…" JC said. "Does she know who you are?"

"Nah, she knows my name, but not that I sing and stuff," Justin said. "But here's what I need to talk to you about. I think I like her. You know, a lot."

"Really?" JC said. "Before you do anything, you have to tell her the truth."

"Well, we've known each other for about… hmm… eight or nine months. And we have talked on the phone. I didn't think I could love after Madeline. But I really like Eryn."

"Well, buddy, you have to be honest with her," JC said.

"I know. Do you think it's weird how I like someone I met from the net?" Justin asked.

"No, because technically you HAVE met her," JC said. "If you hadn't, I would think you were some cyber freak."

Justin laughed. "Thanks, man. I'm going to call her tomorrow."

"I have a better idea," JC said. "Why don't you go to her house?"

"She lives about a 3 and a half hour plane ride away… do you think it's a good idea?" Justin said.

"Yeah," JC said. "Go email her and ask her where she lives. Say you want to send a picture of yourself or something." He picked up his cell phone. "I'll book a flight. Do you want me to come?"

Justin smiled. "Yeah, how about all of us?"

JC shrugged. "Sure, but you should tell the guys the story." He went over to the dresser and got the phonebook. "Okay, I will call, you go tell the guys what you told me, and then go email her!"

"Okay," Justin said, and walked into the room where Chris, Joey and Lance were. He sat down, told them the story and they all smiled.

"Sure, that sounds great!" Joey said. "You're such a sweetheart." Chris started making kissing noises. Justin laughed and walked into the room where his laptop was. Lance followed him and sat down on the bed.

"Um, Justin?" Lance asked.

"Yeah?" Justin replied.

"I think it's really nice what you are doing. I just wanted to tell you that," Lance told him, and walked out of the room.

Justin called to JC and told him to book 5 seats on the plane. Then, he opened his computer, and went online.

***

Eryn sighed. She loved how close her and Justin were getting. But it wasn't enough. Their friendship was almost a year old. She went into Sasha's bedroom.

"Sasha… can we talk?" Eryn asked her.

Sasha turned around. "Sure, what about?"

Eryn explained to Sasha about Justin. She told her what she was feeling and everything. "The thing is, Sasha, I want to meet him."

"That's really dangerous," Sasha said. "But I have an idea."

"What?" Eryn asked.

"If I am here, nothing will happen. Why don't you plan to meet? Tell him to bring a friend or something." Sasha winked. "For me." She laughed. "Where does he live?"

"I don't know. He said he moves around a lot, I don't think he has a set house. Right now, though, he's in Florida." Eryn said. "That's like a four hour plane ride."

Sasha smiled. "Just go online, and email him, asking him what he wants to do. Maybe you can just send pictures in the mail first, since you don't know what he looks like, and we don’t have a scanner."

Eryn nodded. "Thanks, Sash." She left the room, and walked over to the computer.

***

Justin got into Yahoo! Chat, first checking to see if Eryn was online. She wasn't.

***

Eryn logged on. Making her smile, she saw that Justin was online.

***

Justin's face lit up as he read the system message.

Crunk_Girl is Online.

***

Eryn began to type.

Hey, Justin! I was just about to email you, but I checked first to see if you were on. How are you today?

***

Justin filled with happiness. This is perfect! He thought.

Hey, Eryn. I was just also about to email you. That's crazy! I am great, now that you are on. What about you?

***

Eryn's stomach fluttered. I don't know how he does it, but he is actually flirting with me over the net. Go figure.

I am doing good. Listen, I have an idea. How about we send pictures of each other? I really want to see how you look.

***

Justin couldn't believe his luck. It was perfect!

Sure, Eryn. Um, but I move a lot. So how about I send you first. Then, when you get it, I will write in the letter where I am at that time. Okay?

***

Eryn smiled. Of course it was okay!

Sure! She wrote him. She then wrote down her address. I just came on though for this. I have got to go, though. Thanks. I hope I get it soon!

***

Justin replied with a bye and logged off.

He went into the room where JC was watching television.

"JC, it worked! I can't believe it!" Justin smiled.

"I can," JC said. "It's great. Guess when the flight is?"

"Soon, I hope," Justin said. "When?"

"Tomorrow at 9 in the morning!" JC said. "Let's go pack our stuff. I called a hotel, and we are staying there for two weeks. Since we have three weeks off right now, this was perfect!"

"Yeah, thanks so much!" Justin ran to him room, and got his stuff together. When he was finished, he glanced at the clock. It was 11pm, and he was tired. He laid down, his thoughts on Eryn, and soon fell asleep, listening to JC tell the others about their vacation.

***

Eryn looked at her watch. 11pm. Just then the phone rang.

"Eryn! Phone!" Sasha yelled.

"Hello?" Eryn said into the phone.

"Eryn? It's mom!" Eryn's mom said.

"Hey, mom! How are you?" Eryn said.

"Listen, great, but I have some news." Eryn's mom sounded excited.

"What?" Eryn asked.

"Well, you have been living on your own for awhile, and so far, it's going great. Now, I called Sasha's mom and she said that she would be there for emergency's and things like that," her mom said.

"Where are you going to be?" Eryn asked, confused.

"Well, honey, me and your father bought a condo in Florida! Orlando, actually." Her mom's voice was giddy. "Isn't that exciting? You can come visit any time you want. We will pay for the flight. It's just, we wanted more of a quiet place, and now that dad is retired."

"No, mom! That's great! You don't have to explain anything! I am really happy for you," Eryn smiled. "When are you leaving?"

"In three days. We will come say bye before we go. Are you sure you don't mind?"

"Not at all, mom! I am happy for you! But I have to go to bed. I am really tired." Eryn said. "I love you, and don't worry about me."

"I love you, too," her mom answered. "Bye, honey."

"Bye," Eryn replied, and hung up the phone. She ran to Sasha's room to tell her, and then went back to her room. Soon, she fell asleep.
