Chapter Seventy Eight
"Thanks," Chris said, taking a Coke from Sasha.
"No problem," she smiled.
"I'm going to try surfing now," Lance said. "Where are the boards?"
"Over here," Justin said, pointing to four surfboards laying the sand.
Lance walked over and picked one up. "Well, I am going off to try this baby. See you guys later."
"See you," Joey said, walking over and picking one up. He put it back down. "I think I will try later. I'm going to go see the boat."
"Want to go for a ride?" Sasha asked him.
"Sure," he answered, slipping his arm around her waist.
"JC, do you want to come?" she asked, turning to look at JC.
Joey dropped him arm from her waist and frowned.
"I think... nah, I'll stay here," JC said, winking at Joey.
"Okay," Sasha said. Joey smiled at JC and they walked over to the far dock where the boat was.
"What's up with you, Sasha? We just had that talk in the kitchen... then you have to invite him?" Joey asked her.
"I was just trying to be nice," she said defensively.
"I bet," Joey said. "Come on, Sasha. What's going on between you two?"
"Nothing!" she said. "Stop asking. Let's just go for our boat ride."
"No," he said, grabbing her arm.
"Ow, Joey, you're hurting me," Sasha said.
"Can't you freakin tell me the damn truth? Why is it always a lie with you?" Joey insisted.
"Please, let go," Sasha begged.
Joey dropped her arm, and she immediately stepped back away from him. "Come on, Sash, what's the problem? Do you need to have two guys?"
"I don't!" she said. "Come on, Joey. I really like you, and that's it. Please, just believe me."
He saw the pained look on her face and his expression softened. "I'm sorry."
"That's okay," Sasha said. "Look what you did to my arm..."
He glanced down at her arm, and shook his head. "Sorry," he said. "I didn't mean to grab you so hard..."
"That's okay," she said. "You just bruised me..."
"I'm sorry," Joey said. "I shouldn't have flipped out." He leaned over to kiss her, but she shifted her face, and he kissed her cheek.
"Let's go for that ride," she said, leading him to the boat.

"I'm so bored..." Justin muttered.
"What?" JC asked, taking off his sunglasses and looking over.
"I'm bored," Justin said again.
"I'm relaxed," JC said.
"I guess," Justin said. "Maybe I will surf later or something."
"Maybe," JC said.

"Chris," Eryn said, nudging him awake.
"What?" he muttered, his eyes fluttering open.
"The sun moved, you're getting too much sun, move over there," she said.
"I'm really tired, screw off," he said.
"Shut up and listen, go over there," she pointed to a shady spot. Chris gave in and she helped him over to the stop, where he fell back asleep.
***
"No more fighting, okay Joey?" Sasha said. "I don't want to ruin this because I am friends with JC."
"Okay," he said with a smile. He took her hands, and leaned in to kiss her.
She kissed him back, and grinned. Right now, I am truly happy, she thought. What's a little jealousy?
