Chapter Sixty Nine

"This is great!" Justin said, stepping out of the bus, and taking a deep breath.

"I know," Chris said with a smile. "I'm going to like relaxing up here."

JC stepped out of the bus and smiled. "It smells good up here. Like pine and stuff."

"This is wicked," Joey said. "Let's go inside and pick rooms."

The five guys walked inside, and chose their rooms, then put away their stuff. Chris fell asleep seconds after, and the four others sat in front of the TV.

"Okay, guys," the manager said, walking in. "My car is out there, and here are the keys. It better look good when you're through with it." He handed the keys to Lance. "On October twentieth I will be here, ready to get you guys. We will pass Toronto, where we will pick up Sasha and Eryn, and I will drive you to the airport in Toronto, okay?"

"Okay," JC said.

"Call me via cell-phone, beep me, or call my house if you need anything," he said. "There is a grocery store down the road about twenty minutes, okay?"

"Great," Lance said. "Thanks."

"Bye," their manager answered, walking out the door.

"JC, is your laptop here?" Justin asked. "Mine is on the bus, I forgot it."

"I forgot it, too," JC said. "Sorry." He reached into the fridge and pulled out a can of pop.

"That's okay," Justin said.

"Did you want to email Eryn?" JC asked, opening it.

Justin nodded. "I feel bad that I blew up on her."

"I'm sure she'll get over it," JC said.

"Yeah," Justin said, uncertainly.

JC walked out of the room, and Lance walked in a few minutes later.

"I talked to Eryn yesterday," Justin said.

"Oh really?" Lance asked, raising an eyebrow. "How is she?"

"Liking you, apparently," Justin said.

"What do you mean..." Lance said.

"I mean, she still has a thing for you," Justin said bitterly.

"Still? She never did," Lance answered.

"Well, she told me she did," Justin said. "She said something like, I like both of you."

"Oh," Lance said. He smiled to himself but didn't show it. "Sorry."

"It's not your fault," Justin said. "Would you be mad if we got back together?"

"Mad? No," Lance said. "Happy, for you."

"Really? I mean, I feel really bad," Justin said.

"No, I am totally okay with it," Lance said. He forced a smile. "I hardly like her."

"Seriously?"

"Definitely," Lance said, leaving the kitchen.

***A Few Weeks Later***

JC's alarm went off in his ear. He quickly shut it off and glanced at the clock. Seven AM. Right on time, he thought. He pulled on some dark indigo jeans and a black sweater, and grabbed his shoes. He crept down the hall and looked in each of the four guy's rooms. They were all sound asleep.

He walked into the kitchen and took a nectarine from the fruit bowl, and then took the key's from the kitchen table and walked out the door.

JC turned around, realizing he should leave them a note. He ran back inside and grabbed a pen and some paper.

Hey guys,

I just went out this morning. I couldn't sleep. I should be home before lunch. If you needed the car, sorry.

-JC

He put the paper on the kitchen table, then went out to the car.
