Chapter Sixty Five
"What did you say?" Sasha asked, hesitantly.
"I want to get back together," JC said again.
"Have you been drinking? Is this some kind of joke? I swear JC, because if it is-"
"Sasha," JC interrupted. "Honestly. I was thinking about it, and I don't know why we even broke up."
"JC!" Sasha exclaimed. "You broke up with me. Why are you doing this? Because I am with Joey?"
"No," JC said. "Listen-"
"No, you listen," Sasha cut him off. "Call me back when you are sane." She slammed down the phone.
JC put down the phone and stared at it. I have to get her back, he thought determinedly.

"Who was that?" Eryn asked, walking in the room.
"JC," Sasha replied.
"JC? What did he want?" Eryn asked.
"I don't give a damn," Sasha said. "God, what's his problem?"
"Sasha, what did he say?" Eryn asked.
"I think he was drinking," Sasha answered. "He said he wanted to get back together, and stuff like that."
"I don't think he was drunk," Eryn said quietly.
"Why do you think that?" Sasha asked.
Eryn took a deep breath. "Well, I was talking him the other day. Don't say anything to anyone, but he told me he still, um, has, you know, feelings and stuff."
"He does?" Sasha said, surprised.
"Yeah," Eryn said, feeling guilty. "He made me promise not to tell, but he already told you."
"Well, I think it's just because I am with Joey," Sasha said, starting to get mad. "I really like Joey, and he's just trying to ruin it!"
"I don't think that's it," Eryn said, defending JC.
"Well, I do," Sasha insisted. "I know, it's because he is jealous that I have feelings for Joey. He wants me to still love him. If I loved him, he wouldn't love me. He's such an ass."
"Sasha," Eryn chose her words carefully. "Do you think... well, if JC loved you, you know, for real, and you weren't with Joey, then what?"
"Nothing," Sasha said. "I like Joey, and that's all that matters."
"Is it?" Eryn said. "Or are you trying to cover something up?" She looked Sasha in the eye.
Sasha bit her lip. "No," she said, indignant.
"Come on, Sash," Eryn said. "Tell me the truth."
"I am!" Sasha insisted.
Eryn looked hard at her friend.
Suddenly, without any warning, Sasha burst into tears.

The phone rang in the hotel room, about ten minutes later.
"Hello?" JC asked, answering the phone.
"Hey, JC," came a voice.
"Hi," JC said.
"Listen," their manager said. "I was talking to the guy who owns the hotel. They want you out, because he said fans are soon bound to figure out that you are staying there."
"Okay, by when?" JC asked.
"By tomorrow afternoon, he wants you gone," their manager said. "But I know where you can stay, it's really secluded. My wife and I own a cottage, up north. It's about an hour north of Toronto, and it has two queen-sized beds, and a pull out couch. It's right on the beach, and it's great for Chris to relax. I know, it's cold out, so you probably can't swim, but it's only for the next few months, so Chris can relax."
"That sounds great," JC said. "Great for Chris, especially."
"There is one neighbour," the manager went on, "but if they are there, they won't even know who you are. They are in their sixties. Anyway, I want you to pack your things. The bus is going to stop in front of the hotel. I want two of you to help Chris and the other two get out here, quick. Fans might see you. Anyway, they will bring you up, and I am going to drive my car. I am leaving my car there for you guys."
"Okay," JC said. He heard Joey's voice carry into the room. "Hold on, okay?"
"Holding," the manager said.
JC walked out into the front room, where Joey was. "Did you make vacation plans?"
"Yeah," Joey said. "They are for October twenty something, at this small beach house in Florida. It's totally private, and it belongs to a couple who have four children. We have it rented for two weeks."
"Great," JC said. "I'm talking to our manager. I'll let him know."
JC walked back to the phone and relayed the message of the beach house to the manager.
"Sounds good," the manager said. "I'll send the bus up, and I will be in it to get my car, a couple days before. We will travel down there."
"Thanks," JC said. "Talk to you later."
"Bye," the manager replied, hanging up the phone.
JC walked back to the room, where Joey was telling Justin and Lance about the beach house. "It's all settled."
"Great," Joey said. "I can't wait."
"Are Sasha and Eryn coming?" Lance asked.
"I don't know, I think so," Joey replied.
"Damnit, Joey," Lance said. "Why do they have to come? If I'm around her..."
"Don't worry," Joey said. "It will be fine. Everything will be worked out by then anyway."
"I hope so," Lance muttered, walking into the other room.
So do I, Justin thought. So do I.
