Chapter Fifty Eight
"Eryn, I am assuming that you were going to ask me if I still care for her," JC said. "And I do."
"Care for her like a friend, or like a girlfriend?" Eryn asked.
"Why do you want to know?" JC asked.
"Whoa, JC, I'm sorry, I never meant to-" Eryn said.
"Sorry," JC said, cutting her off. "Eryn, if I had it my way, Joey and Sasha wouldn't be together, and we would never have broken up."
Eryn was silent. Finally she spoke. "Wow."
"I know," JC said. "But no one knows this."
"I won't say anything," Eryn promised. "I'm really surprised."
"I'm really surprised that I just told you," JC said. "Not because it's you, just because I never told anyone."
"I swear, I won't say anything," Eryn said.
"Thanks," JC said. "I would be so mad and embarrassed if she found out."
"She won't," Eryn said. She heard the door open. "Oh, shit, JC she's home. I better go."
"Yeah," he said. "Great talking with you."
"Same," she said quickly. "Bye."
"Bye," JC answered.
Eryn hung up the phone.
Sasha walked in the room. "Hey," she said. "I got us some popcorn. Now we can watch the movie."
"Great," Eryn said. "Thanks for running to the store."
"Why are you in such a good mood all of a sudden?" Sasha asked.
"I don't know," she said, smiling.
"Come on," Sasha said.
"No reason," she said.

"Who were you talking to?" Justin asked, coming up behind JC.
"Eryn," JC said. "She wanted to know how Chris is."
"Did she say anything about me?" Justin asked.
"No," JC said. Justin frowned. "Sorry."
"That's okay," Justin said. "Do you talk to her a lot?"
"Not really," JC said. "Why?"
"Because... forget it," Justin said.
"Why?" JC asked.
"I want to know what she thinks of me," Justin said.
"Next time I talk to her, I'll find out," JC said.
"You don't have to," Justin said.
"I want to... if you want me to," JC said.
Justin smiled. "I do."
"Do you still like her?" JC asked.
***
"How's Joey?" Eryn asked Sasha. She really wanted to say something about JC, but she promised him, so she didn't say anything.
"Good, I guess," Sasha said.
"That's all?" Eryn said. "I guess?"
"Oh, sorry," Sasha said, turning to Eryn. "I was watching the movie..."
"That's okay," Eryn said. Maybe she is thinking about JC, she thought.
***
"No," Justin said.
"You don't?" JC said.
"No," Justin repeated. "I don't still like her. I love her, JC."
"Are you serious?" JC said.
"But don't say anything," Justin said. "Because I don't want to get back together. I still don't trust her, and I am still mad at her and Lance."
"But you love her?"
"Always have," he said. "Stupid question." He smirked and walked away.
