Chapter Fifty Five
"Hey Sash," Eryn said, when Sasha's car pulled up.
"Hey," she said, getting out of the car.
"Oooh, what did you buy?" Eryn said, referring to the black Gap bag Sasha was holding.
"I saw these, and I thought, 'totally Eryn'," Sasha said. "So I bought them for you."
"Great! How much do I owe you?" Eryn said.
"Nothing," Sasha said.
"Come on, how much were they?" Eryn said.
"I took off the tags and I ditched the bill," Sasha said. "You will never know."
"Come on!" Eryn said.
"Fine," Sasha said. "I did get my discount though. Diane let me even though she knew they were for you, because I told Shane and then Shane has a huge mouth."
"I hate that employee discount only rule," Eryn said. "But how much?"
"Seventy eight dollars," Sasha answered. "But they came cheap. Don't worry."
"Let me pay you half," Eryn said.
"No," Sasha said again. "Stop it."
Eryn sighed. "Fine." She opened the bag and pulled them out. "I love them!"
Sasha smiled. She knew Eryn would love the medium gray tight stretchy flares. "You really like them?"
"I love them," Eryn said. "Thanks so much."
"No problem," Sasha said. "What did you do all day?"
"I cleaned the house, because it was dusty, I vacuumed, I washed my car and I talked to Joey," Eryn said. "He wants you to call him back."
"Okay," she said. "Thanks. Do you mind if I call him now?"
"Nope," Eryn said. "I was going to go to Blockbuster and rent a movie. Anything you want?"
"Just get something funny," Sasha said. "Okay?"
"Sure," Eryn said, and left in her car.
Sasha walked in the house carrying the bag with Eryn's pants. Sitting down on the couch, she grabbed the phone and dialed the bus phone.
"Hello?" someone whispered.
"Hey, it's Sasha. Who is this?" Sasha said.
"This is Justin," Justin replied. "I'm right beside Chris and he is sleeping. Do you want to talk to Joey?"
"Please," she said. She heard some muffled talking and then Joey got on.
"Hey, Sasha," he said, quietly. "Can I call you back in two seconds on my cell phone? I don't want to wake up Chris."
"Sure," she said. They hung up.
A few seconds later, the phone rang back. "Hello?" Sasha answered.
"Hey," Joey said. "Sorry about that. I'm outside now, on a lawn chair, covered in a blanket."
"Covered? Why?" Sasha asked.
"It's freezing here, Sash, you wouldn't believe," Joey said.
"I guess I wouldn't," Sasha said. "How's Chris?"
"Worse," Joey said. "He said that he is so tired that he feels like he can't move. I feel so bad for him, but we can't do anything."
"He sounds really bad," Sasha said. "Are you going to bring him to the doctor?"
"Yeah, not tomorrow though," Joey said. "He says he can't move, and we don't want to move him."
"Well, you have to get him checked, Joey," Sasha said. "If he's in pain..."
"I know," Joey said. "We don't know what to do." He paused. "Hold on." There was some muffled talking. "JC told me I have to go. He said we should be keeping an eye on Chris."
"You're going to listen to JC? Okay," she said. "See you."
"Are you mad?" Joey asked.
"No," Sasha said. "I have to go anyway, Eryn just came home, we are going to watch a movie."
"Okay," he said. "I'll call you tomorrow."
"If JC lets you," Sasha said. "Bye."
"Sasha!" Joey said.
"Bye," she answered, hanging up the phone.
