Chapter Forty Seven

"Eryn, you can't go on, moping around like this," Sasha said to Eryn, a week after her conversation with Justin.

"Sasha, you don't understand. Ever since I have talked to Justin, Lance has called me about seven times. I had to tell him I was busy and everything. Justin's called me, and I do the exact same thing. Over and over, I love you Justin. This is retarded, Sash. You don't get it. It's so hard for me... and the concert isn't for another week." Eryn held back tears.

"I'm sorry, it's just-" the phone rang cutting off Sasha. "Hello?"

"Hey, is Eryn there?"

"Who's speaking?" Sasha asked.

"Lance, Sasha, you know it's me, can I talk to her?" Lance asked.

"Sure," Sasha said, handing Eryn the phone. "It's Lance," she whispered.

"Hey, Lance," Eryn said into the phone.

"Hey," he said. "I really miss you. How are you? You've been really busy all week, I hardly talked to you."

"I know," she said, trying to make her voice sound regrettable. "But Sasha and I were just about to go out for dinner. Can I call you later? Or wait, maybe tomorrow. I'm really busy... I don't know." She tried to think up another excuse. "Oh, and when you come visit after the concert, I need to talk you. It's important."

"Sure," he said. "But Eryn, I'll call you. Somehow you never end up calling me back."

"Okay," she said. "But I'm really busy, you might not catch me."

"Well, I hope I do," he lowered his voice. "I love you."

"Bye Lance," she said, hanging up the phone. She turned to Sasha. "I can't live like this anymore!"

"Don't worry," Sasha smiled. "It's almost over."

"Justin is going to hate me," Eryn moaned. She put her face in her hands. "Oh, what have I gotten myself into?"

"Eryn, we are only seventeen! What have you gotten yourself into? Teenage stuff! Don't worry!" She laughed. "JC and Joey could both get charged because I am a minor. Does that make you feel better?"

Eryn smiled. "No. Then we both would be in the shitter."

"You're right," Sasha said. "Well, don't worry. When two people are meant to be together, they will be. I think that you and Justin are meant to be. I mean, you guys did get back together. Don't worry, okay?"

"Thanks, Sash, but I am going to worry no matter what," Eryn said. "Maybe I'll just stay in bed for the next week."

"I don't think so," Sasha said, pulling on Eryn's arm. "I'll call Diane, ask her if I don't have to work this week, and then we can keep your mind occupied with other stuff. No talking to Justin, or Lance all week. And I won't talk to Joey, because that way it is fair, okay?"

"Fine," Eryn said reluctantly. "What do you want to do?"

"First, I'll call Diane, then we will plan our week, okay?" Sasha suggested.

"Sure," Eryn sighed. "Just I want to call Justin and tell him I won't be able to talk to him this week."

"Okay," Sasha said. "Just let me make sure it's okay with Diane." She walked into the kitchen and Eryn heard her use the phone. When she came back, she smiled. "It's all set. Now you call Justin, and let me know when you are done."

"Thanks," Eryn said, as Sasha left the room. She picked up the phone and dialed.

"Hello?" Lance answered the phone.

"Um, hey, is Justin there?" Eryn asked, her voice trembling.

"Eryn, hey," he said. "Justin's not here right now, he went to the store with JC."

"Oh," Eryn said disappointed. "Well, can you tell him I called?"

"Hold on," Lance said. She heard muffled voices. "Sorry," Lance muttered to someone who was with him

"Hello?" said a new voice.

"Justin?" Eryn asked.

"Yeah, hey," he said. "What did Lance just tell you."

"Lance said that you went to the store with JC," Eryn told him.

"He did?" Justin said surprised. "Well, I didn't go. Neither did JC. Why would he say that?"

"I don't know," Eryn lied. "Listen, I just called to tell you two things."

"Sure," Justin said. "What?"

"Okay, one, I am going to be really busy all week, I don't think we will be able to talk. So after the concert on Saturday, I will come backstage, and then you guys come home with us, okay?" Eryn said.

"Sounds good," Justin said. "What was the other thing?"

"I love you," Eryn said. "Never forget that."

"I love you, too, Eryn," Justin said. "Never forget THAT."

"I won't," Eryn said. Sasha walked in the room, and made a motion for Eryn to hurry up. "Well, I better go. Sasha wants me off. I love you."

"I love you," Justin said. "Bye."

"Bye," Eryn said, hanging up the phone.

Justin sat beside the phone, and looked out the window. Thoughts of Eryn filled his mind. Why is she acting like this? Why does she keep on saying, I love you. I love her... but something is wrong and she won't tell me.

"Okay, I'm done," Eryn told Sasha.

"Great," Sasha smiled. "Let's plan our week."

"I hope this works," Eryn sighed.

"It will," Sasha said. "This week will be over before you know it."

"Oh, that's reassuring," Eryn laughed.
