Chapter Forty Two

On Thursday morning, JC packed his suitcase and walked down the street to Eryn's house. He let himself in.

"Hello?" he called. He heard someone running down the stairs.

"Hey, JC," Eryn said. "The guys are just about ready."

"Great," he said, smiling. "I'm sorry I left, but I feel a lot better now that I had a break."

"That's good," Eryn said. "So when am I going to see you guys again?"

"I don't know," JC said truthfully. "But Eryn, I really don't want to see Sasha."

"I understand," she said. Behind her, Justin, Lance, Joey and Chris walked down the stairs, each carrying their suitcases. "Well, I guess you better be going. I'm driving you all there, right?"

"Right," Joey said. "Let's go."

Sasha walked into the hallway. "Don't I get to say bye?" she asked.

"Of course, " Joey said. "We have a few minutes." He walked over to Sasha. "I'm really going to miss you," he whispered.

"I'm going to miss you, too," Sasha whispered back, tears forming in her eyes. "Don't forget to call me, okay?"

"Okay," he said. "Next time we are around here, I'll visit."

"Thanks," she said. She hugged him and kissed him on the cheek.

She walked over to Chris and hugged him. "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you, too," he said, returning the hug.

She hugged Justin, and Lance, both wishing them well, and saying she would miss them.

"See you, JC," she said.

"Bye," he said, curtly.

Sasha turned around and walked up the stairs.

Eryn walked outside, and Chris, Lance, Justin and JC followed her. Joey hesitated. "Sasha?" he said. She turned around, standing on the second floor.

"Yeah?" she answered.

"I... I..." he stopped. "Bye."

"Bye," she said, smiling sadly.

They reached the airport and Eryn parked the car. They walked inside, and went to the main desk. Getting their tickets, they sat on the hard plastic chairs.

"Five minutes until boarding for flight two-three-five to Tennessee. That's five minutes," the woman said into the microphone.

Chris stood up. "I guess we should say bye now," he said, uncomfortably.

"Yeah," Eryn said quietly. "I guess."

Chris hugged Eryn. "Thanks for letting us stay at your house."

"No problem," she said. "I'll miss you."

Joey and JC both hugged her next, and said good bye.

"Bye," she said to Lance, unsure what to do.

"Bye," he said. He pulled her in for an awkward hug.

The four guys walked towards the entrance to wait for Justin and Eryn to say good bye.

Tears began to fall down Eryn's cheek's. "Justin," she whispered hoarsely.

"Eryn," he said. Soon his cheeks were wet with tears. He pulled her close for a hug. "I will miss you so much."

"I'll miss you, too," she said. She pulled back to look at his face.

He gently took two fingers and brushed away her tears. "I never knew how hard this was going to be," he said. "I can't live without you. I love you."

Eryn hesitated. She smiled and looked up at him. "Justin, you better go."

He nodded and pulled her close for a kiss. Seconds later, they pulled apart. "I'll watch your plane," she told Justin.

"I'll call you when I get there," he said. He kissed her again. "Bye."

"Bye," she said. Justin picked up his carry on and walked to where the guys were standing.

"Attention flyers," the pilot's voice came over the speaker. "Due to a small technical problem, our take off won't be for another ten minutes. Sorry about the delay."

"That sucks," Lance said. He turned to Justin. "Did you say that Eryn was going to watch our plane take off?"

"I think so," Justin said.

Lance nodded and sat in his seat for a few minutes. "Oh shit," he said. "I wanted to buy a magazine. I forgot. I'm going to go get one," he lied.

"Okay," JC said. "Hurry, though."

Lance quickly got out of his seat, and ran to the front of the plane.

"Can I help you?" a stewardess asked him.

"Yes, is it okay if I quickly run out of here, and I have to do something," Lance said in a rush.

"I'm sorry, I don't understand," she smiled a toothy grin.

"Can I leave for a second?" Lance asked.

"No, I'm sorry you can't," she said.

"Please!" he said. "I will be back in time, I promise, it will take two minutes."

She hesitated. "Fine."

"Thanks so much!" he said. He ran past her towards the waiting area.

Eryn turned around, hearing someone call her name.

"Lance!" she exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"

"Eryn, I couldn't give you the good bye I wanted to when Justin was here," he said.

"You're going to miss your plane," she pointed out.

"I don't care," he said. "I can't leave without doing this." He pulled her close and kissed her.

***

Justin looked through the window of the plane, into the waiting area.

"Hey, JC," he said, tapping his friend's arm. He pointed into the building. "Look at those two... going at it like they will never see each other again." He laughed. "Even Eryn and I aren't that pathetic."

JC looked at the couple and laughed. "That's me and Sasha, a couple months ago." He looked closer at the people. Suddenly his face went pale.

"J-Justin. Here. Look at this new magazine, I bought. See if your information is right." He threw an N Sync magazine in Justin's lap and panicked. "Um... can we switch spots so I can lean against the side?"

"Sure," Justin said. He got up and switched with JC.

JC put his pillow in front of the window so Justin couldn't sleep and pretending to sleep.

"LAST CHANCE FOR TENNESSEE! NOW BOARDING!" a voice came over the loud speaker.

Lance pulled away from Eryn.

"Lance," she began.

He put his index finger on her lips. "I'll call you." He said.

She nodded and he ran towards the entrance of the plane.
