Chapter Thirteen

JC walked into Justin's room.

"Hey," he said. "Want to hear about my conversation with Sasha?"

Justin nodded, "I guess."

JC told him everything, including the plan. Justin sighed. "I guess," Justin said. "If you think it will work. Just tell me what Eryn's mom says, after Sasha talks to her, and comes over, okay?" JC nodded.

Sasha called Eryn's mom.

"Hello?" Eryn's mom asked.

"Hi, it's Sasha," Sasha said.

"Sasha! How are you, sweetheart?" Eryn's mom exclaimed.

"Great," Sasha said. "I have to tell you something."

"Sure, Sasha," Eryn's mom sounded concerned. "Is anything wrong?"

"No, no," Sasha said. "Don't worry."

"Okay, then, what is it?" Eryn's mom asked.

"Okay, awhile ago, Eryn met this guy, right? And they talked for a year, blah, blah, blah. It turns out, Eryn looked exactly like his dead girlfriend, and she was her first love. Anyway, he broke up with her because he thought he was with her for the wrong reasons, then he realized it wasn't wrong, he really did love her. But Eryn is so stubborn that she won't take him back," Sasha paused for a breath.

"Oh, I know what you mean," Eryn's mom said. "This boy, sounds like a good boy. What's his name?"

"Justin," Sasha answered. "Anyway, the plan is to get her to go to his concert, and the next one is in Orlando."

"Concert?" Eryn's mom asked her. "Is he a musician?"

"A singer," Sasha replied. "In the group N Sync."

"Really?" Eryn's mom sighed. "I know them. They are good looking boys. Especially the blond curly haired boy."

"That's Justin," Sasha said. "Anyway, can we just say we are going to visit you?"

Eryn's mom agreed to the plan. Sasha filled her in on the rest of the details, then they hung up. The plan was set.

JC opened the door. "Sasha! Hey," he said.

"Hey, the plan is set," she answered.

"Great!" JC exclaimed. He pulled her close. "That's not the only thing that's great."

"What else?" Sasha asked.

"You," JC said, and leaned in to kiss her.

"That's not the only thing that's great," Chris mimicked JC, coming up behind him.

"What else is great?" asked Joey.

"You," Chris said, and blew Joey a kiss.

"Shut up," JC said, smiling. "Just because you guys are swinging for the wrong team…"

"So? SO? I can be a fag if I please!" Chris said, swatting JC and walking away.

"Yeah," Joey said. "And don't you think Chris has a nice ass? Mmm, mmm, mmm!"

Chris wiggled his ass, and they ran out of the hotel, laughing.

"Where were we?" JC asked Sasha.

"Right about… here," Sasha answered, kissing JC on the lips. They heard someone come behind them.

"Um, guys?" Lance asked.

"What?" JC answered. "Can't you see we are busy?"

"Um, I don't know what to do, because Justin is sitting on his windowsill, crying." Lance said. "I think he is ready to jump, and he said, if I come near him, he will."

"Shit!" JC exclaimed. He ran to Justin's room, and stayed in the doorway. "Sasha, Lance, stay back, okay?" They nodded.

"Justin," JC said soothingly. "Can I come in?"

"No," Justin said, his voice filled of agony. "Leave me alone."

"No," JC said. "You're my best friend. What's wrong?"

"Will you just leave me alone? Come on. If you are really my best friend, you would screw off." Justin said. "Just do that, okay?"

"No," JC said again. "I won't. Tell me what's wrong."

Justin turned to him, showing JC his tear streaked face. "What's wrong? You want to know what’s wrong?" He stood up and JC breathed a sigh of relief. "I lost my girlfriend, okay? And then, finally, I feel like I can love again. So I do. And I mess it up. I MESSED IT UP! JC, you have a great girl. You have the looks. You have the voice. You have the moves. I have nothing." He put one foot out the window. "Nothing at all." Justin swung his other foot around.

"No! Please, Justin, don't jump," JC said. "Eryn's mom agreed to the plan!"

"Like it will work," Justin said. "I don't think it will. I know it won't."

"It might," JC said. "Just give it a chance."

"Fine," Justin said. "Fine. I will give it a chance. But if it doesn't work, I can do whatever the hell I please." He got off the windowsill. "Come here," he said to JC. JC did. "Thanks," he said, hugging his friend.

"No problem," said JC. "And I am sure it will work."

Sasha went home later that night, still shaken up from Justin's near suicide.

"Hey, Sasha, where have you been?" Eryn asked.

"JC's," Sasha replied.

"Was Justin there?" Eryn asked. "Not that I care, I'm just curious."

"Yeah, he was," Sasha decided not to tell her about his near death.

"Oh," Eryn said, sighing. "Okay."

The phone rang, and Sasha smiled, knowing who it would be.

"You want to get it?" she asked Eryn.

"Sure," Eryn said. "Hello?"

"Hey, darling," Eryn's mom said.

"Hi mom!" Eryn said. "How are you?"

"Great, listen. I want you and Sasha to come for a visit. I even bought you concert tickets!" Eryn's mom laughed. "Do you like that group… what's it called? 98 degrees?"

Eryn breathed a sign of relief, glad to hear her not say N Sync. "Yeah, mom. When are we coming?"

"I called the airlines, so you don't need tickets. Your plane leaves Friday morning, and the show is on Saturday evening. Is that good?" Eryn's mom asked.

"Yeah," Eryn said. "Great. I'll tell Sasha and I'll see you Friday." They exchanged good-bye's and I love you's and hung up the phone.

Eryn told Sasha the news.

"That's great!" Sasha said, happy that she was such a good actress. "Since that's in two days, I'm going to call JC and tell him good bye. They are leaving tomorrow, and I may never see him again."

"Yeah, well I hope I never see that asshole again. Justin." Eryn laughed. "I can't believe how stupid I was."

"No you weren't. I'm calling JC," Sasha left the room.

"Hello?" said a familiar male voice, after Sasha dialed the number.

"Um, I am assuming this is either Lance, Joey, Chris or Justin." Sasha teased.

"No, it's not," the voice said. "How come you don't know my voice? I know yours."

"Okay, well, I was kidding, JC." Sasha said.

"I know," JC said. "Is the plan working?"

"Yeah, perfect," Sasha said. "But I have to go, I don't want her getting suspicious."

"Okay, but I am leaving tomorrow. I want to tell you something first." JC said.

"What?" asked Sasha.

"I just want to say that I have never felt this way about anyone before in my life. Sasha… I really, really like you. A lot. And even if things don't work out with Justin and Eryn, I want us to stay together." JC said.

"Of course," Sasha said, surprised. That was the last thing she had expected to hear. It had only been about a week and a half. "Bye."

"Bye," JC said.
